MHHM(Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management)
"We create menstrual health-friendly education environments to ensure that Ugandan girls do not drop out of school because of their periods."
The MHHM Project is implemented by Hope is Education with support from the Community Chest of Korea.
From 2024 to 2026, two primary schools in Uganda will be selected each year to distribute sanitary pads, construct menstrual health and hygiene-friendly toilets, and provide sex education for students and teachers.
The project aims to create a menstrual health-friendly environment that enables girls to continue their studies. By constructing toilets and distributing sanitary pads, Hope is Education supports girls in managing their menstrual health. In addition, the project provides gender awareness education and operates “Hope Club”, self-help groups where boys and girls learn to understand and support one another, fostering a positive school culture.
Through improved hygiene facilities and enhanced gender awareness in school communities, Hope is Education is committed to ensuring that adolescent girls can access quality education.
